Full Description

Two pristine lakes and an untamed reserve make up the grounds. These valuable wetlands offer wildlife spotting for bats, wildfowl, fish, dragonflies, damselflies, butterflies, and other invertebrates. While these verdant surroundings make it tempting to do nothing but wander the paths through woods, there is plenty to explore further afield in the Cotswolds, the largest Area of Outstanding Beauty in England and Wales.

Important Information:

The Lodges are for adults only. We have a strict no child/babies policy and also, Pets are Not allowed to be brought to the property, the property is Pet-Free and Smoke-Free

There is no public transportation, a car is essential.

Please note that there are no blinds/curtains, you may consider bringing your eye/sleep mask.

Only registered guests are allowed to enter the premises, no parties are allowed.

For visitors at Little Horseshoe Lake, particularly around Pond Lodge and Island Lodge you will see the huge climbing frame in place across the lane and set up in South Cerney Outdoors area. The facility is very new, only going live in May ’23 and has proved to be hugely successful through the summer (in spite of the rain Sky-Line is an aerial adventure… 14 obstacles over two levels at up to 12m off the ground… An assault course with the added challenge of height. Open to anyone age 8+, this activity requires a good basic level of fitness and mobility and will challenge your confidence, balance and resilience Bookable now at weekends and school holidays as part of our Pay & Play programme. a 45 minute session is just £15 Feeling extra confident… Why not add our 13m Drop Zone at check out and experience stepping off a 13m vertical drop

The Best Christmas Light Trails in the Cotswolds for 2023 It’s never too early to be thinking about your Christmas in the Cotswolds! Our homes are booking up fast for the actual festive period and for New Year but there is plenty of availability around Christmas still and plenty going on in the Cotswolds around that time! The Cotswolds is a beautiful area of England known for its rolling hills, honey-colored villages, and historic castles. During the Christmas season, the Cotswolds are transformed into a winter wonderland with its many Christmas light trails. Here are a few of the best light trails to visit in the Cotswolds in 2023: Spectacle of Light at Sudeley Castle from 24 November to 30 December 2023. This magical after-dark experience takes you on a trail through the castle grounds, where you’ll see over 1 million lights, as well as illuminated characters from the Wizard of Oz. Enchanted Christmas at Westonbirt Arboretum from 24 November to 21 December 2023. This festive light trail is set among the beautiful trees of the arboretum, and features over 750,000 lights, as well as a variety of Christmas activities, such as ice skating and a Santa’s grotto. Blenheim Palace Illuminated Light Trail from 18 November 2023 to 2 January 2024. This stunning light show takes you on a journey through the history of the palace, and features over 100,000 lights, as well as projections and music. Cotswold Farm Park Enchanted Light Trail from 25 November to 31 December 2023. This family-friendly light trail takes you through the farm park, and features over 500,000 lights, as well as illuminated animals and displays. Into The Woods Light Trail at The Old Shed from 15 to 17 December 2023. This new light trail takes you on a magical journey through the woods, and features over 200,000 lights, as well as music and sound effects. Please always check the dates on the local website as they are always subject to change

House Rules

Little horseshoe lake is a private gated estate with only 5 holiday lodges for couples and a larger house for families. We try not to impose too many rules but please be aware that the homes are intended to be private and therefore care needs to be taken when walking around the lake to avoid disturbing other guests.

Please park cars in bays marked for that purpose. Each home has a lay-by on Wildmoorway Lane just by each of the lodges but if you are concerned at leaving your car on the lane then talk to us about parking at Pond Gate where you will have a short walk to your lodge.

Only 2 guests per lodge is permitted except for Pond where there are 4 guests and Little Horseshoe lodge which is designed for families.
