We’re Barry and Jo, and we’re lucky enough to call the Cotswold Lakes our home. What started as weekends away became something much bigger when we moved here in 2014—and by 2016, we’d launched our holiday company with just one lakeside lodge on Windrush.
Fast forward to today, and our portfolio has grown dramatically, with a handpicked collection of beautiful homes across the Cotswolds including the lakes such as Waters Edge, Lower Mill, The Landings, Isis, Windrush, and surrounding towns like Burford and Cheltenham. Most are dog-friendly, all are full of character—and each one offers guests a special kind of stay.
But we’ve always believed that growth only matters when it’s done right. As our business expanded, so did our team—but we’ve been careful to bring in people who share our ethos: warm, thoughtful, hardworking, and proud to go the extra mile. Today, we’re lucky to have an incredible group of staff who are not just employees, but true ambassadors of everything our brand stands for.
From Corporate Life to Lakeside Living
We both came from corporate careers, so life now couldn’t be more different—and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
After a year spent travelling the world—celebrating Christmas and New Year in New Zealand before making our way through Hawaii, the Americas, and beyond—we found ourselves drawn back to this special corner of the Cotswolds. Travel is still a big part of our lives, but no matter where we go, we’re always happiest returning to the place we now call home.
That time away gave us real perspective—and a deep appreciation for what makes a stay truly memorable. We’ve poured that experience into every lodge we manage, but we’re still learning every day.
And we couldn’t do it without our fantastic team. We’re not a faceless agency—we are the business, and we know every property inside out. Unlike many larger operators, we manage everything ourselves: from guest care and housekeeping to hot tubs, decking plants, and sparkling windows.
Jo, Adele, Meg, and Tash are usually the last ones to walk through your lodge before you arrive—making sure everything’s spotless, everything works, and every detail is just right. You might even see one of them on your way in.

The Cotswolds is famous as an area of outstanding natural beauty complete with rolling hills, picture-perfect villages and honey-coloured cottages. It’s not all tea rooms and rambles however (although there’s no shortage of either of those life-affirming pastimes). A glimpse behind the traditional chintz reveals a vibrant cultural scene with the world-class Cheltenham Festivals of literature, music and science; award-winning theatre and galleries throughout the region; adrenalin-fuelled adventure on the Cotswold lakes; great shopping; gourmet food; and vibrant bars. All surrounded by the most beautiful countryside and the healing majesty of nature.
