Our favourite things to do

Check out Bibury

Bibury

Nestled in the scenic Cotswold countryside, Bibury is often celebrated as ‘the most beautiful village in England.’ This charming accolade comes from none other than the renowned designer, William Morris. Upon entering Bibury, you’ll immediately encounter Arlington Row. This line of 17th century weavers’ cottages, originally converted from a 1380s wool store, exemplifies quintessential English country life. Their picturesque charm has become a symbol of the village, making them a favourite among photographers and visitors alike. Adding to Bibury’s serene atmosphere is the River Coln, one of England’s cleanest rivers. It meanders gently through the village, forming the perfect backdrop to the Cotswold-stone cottages. If you look closely, you might even spot trout darting in its clear waters, adding a touch of life to this idyllic scene. Just a stone’s throw away from Arlington Row, you’ll find the Bibury Trout Farm, one of the oldest in Britain. Here, visitors can indulge in a spot of fishing – a delightful way to spend an afternoon, especially with the farm’s offer to prepare your catch for you! The village is also home to St Mary’s Church, a remarkable Saxon church dating back to the 8th century. With its stunning stained-glass windows and a unique sundial dated 1623 in its churchyard, St Mary’s adds a historic touch to the village. Bibury truly encapsulates the essence of the Cotswolds: quiet, quaint, and steeped in charm. It’s a destination that feels like a step back in time, offering a tranquil retreat from the fast pace of contemporary life.

Corinium Museum

The Corinium Museum, nestled in the heart of Cirencester, the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds,’ is a gateway to the rich and intricate history of Roman Britain. It stands on the site of what was once one of the largest Roman towns in England, offering a captivating glimpse into ancient life through its remarkable collection of Roman artifacts. From intricate mosaics and exquisite jewelry to well-preserved Roman villas, the museum brings the past to life through interactive exhibits and educational programs. It not only highlights Cirencester’s Roman heritage but also traces the area’s history from the Stone Age through to the modern period. A visit here promises an enriching experience for history buffs, families, and anyone keen to explore the layers of time that make up the Cotswolds’ unique character. Remember to visit the Roman amphitheatre off Cotswold Avenue in Cirencester which is listed as an ancient monument and also the Roman Villa at Chedworth, the largest such find in the UK.

House Rules

We try to flexible and not to put too many constraints on our guests but we are also committed to looking after our homes.

We welcome up to 2 pets in Berry Farm but talk to us about your plans. Always let us know if you plan to bring pets (there is a small charge per pet) as we need to factor it into our cleans. We do not allow pets into the bedrooms and particularly onto beds. We recognise that keeping pets off the furniture is a challenge so you will find throws available to use please.

Berry Farm is a working farm so take care moving around the yards and be prepared to give way to pedestrians and farm animals. Keep your speed to 5 mph inside of the farm gates and please ensure your pets do not get into the fields where there are farm animals.

No parties, hen nights or stag nights – this really isn’t the place for loud parties as a working farm. Unfortunately due to a number of past experiences we do not allow all male occupancy of our homes. Sorry guys!

And that’s really it – tell us about breakages so that we can replace where necessary. Larger damage and specialist cleaning we will need to discuss with you if necessary.

A beautiful house in a peaceful location. Stayed here for our ‘mini moon’ after our wedding, and it definitely hit the brief! The right amount of luxury that still feels homely.
Everything was just perfect, had the best time.
My favourite part of the house- the hot tub on the decking overlooking the lake 👌🏻

Had a really nice time at this place. The house has quite unique architecture, with huge windows and an incredible view. The well-designed interior and lakeside area are stunning, and the height of the ceiling — uh, wish we had this at home! It feels very special and sets the right mood for relaxation. We had a lot of fun observing the local wildlife and using the hot tub.
