Maricor, Filipino for Goddess of Peace, or freedom loving and free spirited is the latest addition to the Cotswold Water Park Retreats portfolio and is absolutely stunning. It’s been in the planning for 3 years and now complete and ready for its first guests.
Full Description
Situated perfectly on Waters Edge lake in Cotswold Water Park and with views both up and down the lake this holiday home is incredibly popular with our guests, past, present and we think, will be, in the future. Built slightly differently to our other homes on Waters Edge, Maricor is a brick and timber building but the white rendering gives it that mediterranean look in contrast to its Scandinavian neighbours.
Beautifully finished by Amy Davies, runner up on Interior Design Master in 2022, who even managed to rope in Banjo (the eventual winner) to help complete the house in time for our photographer to do her usual high standard photography.
The interior is also slightly different to the other lodges but retains the downstairs bedroom and bathroom, so popular with many of our guests, but does separate the utility room and stairs from the rest of the house. The kitchen and living space are combined perfectly to ensure that our guests, when working in the kitchen do not feel left out. The windows and decking have uninterrupted views across the lake and are not overlooked by any of the other homes on the estate.
As you would come to expect from Cotswold Water Park Retreats, this home is fully equipped with a hot tub and a fantastic outside space, perfectly designed for lakeside living and also includes a large balcony for the upstairs master bedroom – a perfect spot for a glass of wine and watch the sun go down.

Jacks Cafe & Tearoom
Jacks offer a selection of tasty treats and artisan coffees, as well as a modern brunch menu like no other! Set on a stunning Cotswold cobbled street in the heart of Cirencester, we have the perfect setting for a lazy weekend brunch or a coffee & cake break! Combine it with a trip to the award winning Corinium Museum and hear about Cirencester’s Roman History. Black Jack street is a wonderful little street full of great independent shops and restaurants and from the top you have the classic view down into Cirencester where you can see the Church of St John the Baptist. Black Jack street is a full days itinerary itself!

Food Made By Bob
Bob’s culinary career began with his training at Bibendum in London, before moving to Michelin starred The Fulham Road, working alongside Steven Bull and then onto Fables, Che in St James’ and The Ladbroke Arms in Notting Hill. Following this, Bob worked with David Thompson at Nahm at the Halkin Hotel; the first Michelin star Thai restaurant in the world. Swapping London for the Cotswolds in 2004, Bob took on the position of head chef at The Swan at Southrop, before assuming the same role at The Village Pub in Barnsley & Barnsley House. In 2008, Bob opened his renowned Cirencester restaurant and deli ‘Made by Bob’ and ran this award-winning eatery for 10 years before taking on a consulting role in 2019.

House Rules
We try to flexible and not to put too many constraints on our guests but we are also committed to looking after our homes.
We welcome up to 2 pets in Maricor but talk to us about your plans. Always let us know if you plan to bring pets (there is a small charge per pet) as we need to factor it into our cleans. We do not allow pets into the bedrooms and particularly onto beds. We recognise that keeping pets off the furniture is a challenge so you will find throws available to use please
No parties, hen nights or stag nights – this really isn’t the place for loud parties as many of the homes on this lake are occupied by year round residents. Unfortunately due to a number of past experiences we do not allow all male occupancy of our homes. Sorry guys!
And that’s really it – tell us about breakages so that we can replace where necessary. Larger damage and specialist cleaning we will need to discuss with you if necessary.
We just ask that you treat our home with respect and that you consider our neighbours when you are on the decking in particular as sound does travel a lot further over water.
