Christmas in the Cotswolds!

Christmas in the Cotswolds has to be one of the best times of the year and the best place to be!

*”When Chekhov saw the long winter, he saw a winter bleak and dark and bereft of hope. Yet we know that winter is just another step in the cycle of life. But standing here among the people of The Cotswolds and basking in the warmth of their hearths and hearts, I couldn’t imagine a better fate than a long and lustrous winter.”

The Cotswolds are a magical place all year round but there is something special about Christmas in the Cotswolds. There is so much going on around the area and most of the lovely towns and villages are dressed for Christmas, creating some amazing experiences and great photo opportunities.

Start your Christmas with an Enchanted Light Trail

Grab a hot chocolate or spiced apple and explore a magical illuminated light trail this Christmas. With sparkling light displays set to music, these trails through the Cotswolds’ gardens and outdoor spaces are more popular than ever, with six local trails to choose from this year.

Walk through illuminated trees while you help Father Christmas’ elves decorate Westonbirt Arboretum for their Enchanted Christmas (25 November–21 December 2022). Or enjoy the grand backdrops of Blenheim Palace for the Illuminated Light Trail (18 November 2022–2 January 2023) and Sudeley Castle for the Spectacle of Light (25 November–30 December 2022).

There’s the family-focused Enchanted Light Trail at Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park (25 November–31 December 2022) and the winter lantern festival is back for Christmas at Longleat (5 November 2022–8 January 2023). And finally, the Enchanted Garden of Light returns to Bath’s American Museum and Gardens (1–31 December 2022) for a second year.
