Bibury
Nestled in the scenic Cotswold countryside, Bibury is often celebrated as ‘the most beautiful village in England.’ This charming accolade comes from none other than the renowned designer, William Morris. Upon entering Bibury, you’ll immediately encounter Arlington Row. This line of 17th century weavers’ cottages, originally converted from a 1380s wool store, exemplifies quintessential English country life. Their picturesque charm has become a symbol of the village, making them a favourite among photographers and visitors alike. Adding to Bibury’s serene atmosphere is the River Coln, one of England’s cleanest rivers. It meanders gently through the village, forming the perfect backdrop to the Cotswold-stone cottages. If you look closely, you might even spot trout darting in its clear waters, adding a touch of life to this idyllic scene. Just a stone’s throw away from Arlington Row, you’ll find the Bibury Trout Farm, one of the oldest in Britain. Here, visitors can indulge in a spot of fishing – a delightful way to spend an afternoon, especially with the farm’s offer to prepare your catch for you! The village is also home to St Mary’s Church, a remarkable Saxon church dating back to the 8th century. La Bobina; the buzzing Spanish Tapas & Wine Bar located in the beautiful Black Jack Street in Cirencester. Bringing you a taste of the Spanish tapas bar culture to the Cotswolds. Eating and Drinking in a social and lively atmosphere; for couples in corners or large groups, enjoying and sharing tapas. Using the very best fresh ingredients, our chefs create and produce the best tapas outside of Spain. The menu is seasonal with weekly changing specials. Cotswold Country Park and Beach
Opening on the 23rd March in time for Easter (tickets available online now) the country park and beach offers more than just beach activities. Check their website for events, opening times and booking. Parking is generally quite tight so please make sure that you book your car and guests in on line in advance of travelling to the park. It is about 5 minutes in the car from our properties on Waters Edge, Summer lake and Little Horseshoe. Cotswold Country Park and Beach itself is celebrated for offering the largest inland beach in the UK, alongside a multitude of activities such as open water swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, and the AquaVenture water park, the largest inflatable waterpark in the area. The park comprises two lakes that were formed around forty years ago through gravel extraction, and these lakes have since become a hub for a variety of water-based and family-friendly activities The AquaVenture water park has been there for a few years now and is hugely popular – again book your tickets in advance!!
House Rules
Little horseshoe lake is a private gated estate with only 5 holiday lodges for couples and a larger house for families. We try not to impose too many rules but please be aware that the homes are intended to be private and therefore care needs to be taken when walking around the lake to avoid disturbing other guests.
Please park cars in bays marked for that purpose. Each home has a lay-by on Wildmoorway Lane just by each of the lodges but if you are concerned at leaving your car on the lane then talk to us about parking at Pond Gate where you will have a short walk to your lodge.
Only 2 guests per lodge is permitted except for Pond where there are 4 guests and Little Horseshoe lodge which is designed for families.
