Berry Farm Barn

While the village of South Cerney was founded by Saxon settlers in 999 AD, parts of the stone farmhouse on the farm date back to 1580, and Berry Farm is known to have existed on the site since at least 1856.  The Farm was purchased by Claire’s great grandfather in 1932, for the princely sum of £4,300 – and has remained in the family ever since.  Claire remembers harvest time when her grandfather Ray owned the farm – climbing up into the hay bales! Ray loved horses and was often seen round the village with his horse and trap, where Claire loved riding beside him. The farm was left to Claire’s mother, and now Claire is the fourth generation of the family to live and work on the farm – and has uncovered some incredible photographs in the archives…

Sky Line Aerial Adventure

For visitors at Little Horseshoe Lake, particularly around Pond Lodge and Island Lodge you will see the huge climbing frame in place across the lane and set up in South Cerney Outdoors area. The facility is very new, only going live in May ’23 and has proved to be hugely successful through the summer (in spite of the rain Sky-Line is an aerial adventure… 14 obstacles over two levels at up to 12m off the ground… An assault course with the added challenge of height. Open to anyone age 8+, this activity requires a good basic level of fitness and mobility and will challenge your confidence, balance and resilience Bookable now at weekends and school holidays as part of our Pay & Play programme. a 45 minute session is just £15 Feeling extra confident… Why not add our 13m Drop Zone at check out and experience stepping off a 13m vertical drop

Elkstone Studios

Elkstone Studios Elkstone Studios is a thriving new workspace hub consisting of immaculate farmyard conversions with a food hall, cafe, retail space, fitness, event space and EV charging. We offer businesses of all sizes permanent office space or flexible co-working space that combines best practice in modern office design. The food hall is home to Knead Bakery and Jesse Smiths Butchers. Knead do a fantastic brunch with indoor and outdoor seating and only 3 miles from Duntisbourne Leer where we have Gardiner’s and Nutbeam cottages and just 7 miles from Cirencester. If you don’t fancy the trip out to Elkstone studios but enjoy quality cake then you’ll also find Knead (and Jessie Smiths) in Black Jack Street You’ll also find the Tipsy Baker outdoor bar that do great cocktails. There are often pop ups including artists and Catherine Zoraida has a shop there now, Kate is a huge fan of her work and has been photographed wearing some of her creations! The studios also are home to a couple of padel board courts and gym if you are feeling energetic.

House Rules

Little horseshoe lake is a private gated estate with only 5 holiday lodges for couples and a larger house for families. We try not to impose too many rules but please be aware that the homes are intended to be private and therefore care needs to be taken when walking around the lake to avoid disturbing other guests.

Please park cars in bays marked for that purpose. Each home has a lay-by on Wildmoorway Lane just by each of the lodges but if you are concerned at leaving your car on the lane then talk to us about parking at Pond Gate where you will have a short walk to your lodge.

Only 2 guests per lodge is permitted except for Pond where there are 4 guests and Little Horseshoe lodge which is designed for families.

Only Pond Lodge is dog friendly.

Wonderful stay on the lake. Beautiful house in a beautiful setting - really enjoyed our stay! House had everything needed for a comfortable stay, was easy to find and has couple of pubs/pizza place/outdoor pub within walking distance. We all had comfortable sleep and it felt very peaceful and private, hot tub was a hit! We would definitely come back again.
