Waters Edge lake is where it all started for Cotswold Water Park Retreats. We did dabble a little bit at Windrush lake but we always had eyes for Waters Edge and as quickly as we could we relocated there.

There are over 180 lakes spread across 42 acres and the lakes will increase over time. However, not all lakes have homes built around them and not all are available to the public. Not sure what it was about Waters Edge but something to do with the unusual shape and style of the houses was definitely part of the attraction.

Our first property on the lake we called Waters Edge, not thinking in the future there would be more but quite quickly we managed to secure Kingfisher as well. Since then a number of owners on the lake have joined our company and now we can offer 8 properties on Waters Edge, soon to increase quite substantially as more homes add to the portfolio.

Waters Edge is a little special – all of the homes are of high quality, all are pet friendly and all have hot tubs on the decking. They are a mixture of three and four bedded homes and all furnished differently but in a way that we would be happy with them if we were to visit.

The Lodge at Lake 12

The lodge at lake 12 is one of our favourite stopping off points at the end (or even the start) of a busy day on the lake. I can certainly vouch for their oat milk flat white and flapjacks having had them numerous times whilst getting our lodges ready for guests. The log fire in the cafe was something of a magnet during a cold winter. The lodge has only been around for a couple of years – slightly delayed during COVID but now a regular hive of activity. It has both indoor and outdoor seating and is dog friendly inside and out. The seating outside provide some great views across their lake and there is nothing quite like seeing those colourful sails billowing out across the lake. The lodge has great coffee, friendly staff and serves a variety of snacks, cakes and sandwiches. They now also provide a street food menu which is worth trying – basically its different foods from around the world There is plenty of parking and you will find an eclectic group of customers there from locals, dog walkers, cyclists, water sport enthusiasts and many, many more.,
